Upper Canada Campground - Nearby Attractions Upper Canada Campground is located in the Township of South Dundas, a region that offers visitors a unique experience into Ontario's past.

The 1958 flooding of the St. Lawrence Seaway from Cornwall to Iroquois has been a big part of our rich heritage. A third of Morrisburg, as well as almost the entire village of Iroquois has been moved to make room for the Seaway. The entire story can be found in "The Lost Villages Museum," located close by.

The Iroquois Lookout Locks have been fittingly named "The Gateway to the Great Lakes." Here's a great opportunity to see ocean vessels from all over the world up close. Just down the road you find "Carman House Museum." This 1820's building is one of only three homes that remained where it was originally built.

Dundela is the site of the original McIntosh Apple Tree. Here one can find a monument to celebrate this great achievement, surrounded by many orchards encouraging all to enjoy the great outdoors.

The home of the famous Dr. Mahlon Locke is found in the hamlet of Williamsburg. From 1928 until he died in 1942 Dr. Locke treated many arthritic patients by manual manipulation to the feet.

Slip into the past with a historic pioneer experience at "Upper Canada Village Heritage Park." Here one can experience life in a rural community of the 1860's. The many interpreters recreate rural life throughout the 40 historic building settings including some of the buildings that were moved during the construction of the Seaway.

Care to fall even further back in time? Let us recommend "Prehistoric World". Here you'll marvel at over 50 life size reproduction of prehistoric animals displayed along winding nature trails.

Nature lovers will get a high at the "Upper Canada Bird Sanctuary." Guests enjoy studying a variety of native birds in their natural habitat along the many well-maintained walking trails.

South Dundas offers FOORRRREEE!!!!!! golf courses that will challenge even the most avid golfer.

Upper Canada Playhouse in Morrisburg offers live theatrical performances throughout the summer.

For the shoppers, both Morrisburg and Iroquois Shopping Centres offer numerous stores for all your needs. Old Author's Books has books for everyone's different taste, while McHaffies Flea Market is a great place to spend a Sunday, browsing at antiques or to just socialize with regular guests.
